Q: In the event of an emergency, how will the campus communicate with students, faculty, staff, and parents?
A: Adams State will utilize a variety of media to communicate pertinent information in case of an actual emergency. ASU faculty, staff and students will receive information and instructions directly through the ASU Alert System, an integrated e-mail and text messaging system. Adams State students (and their families) can sign up to receive emergency alerts by text message and/or email. Each Adams State student can register up to two phone numbers and two email addresses (a parent or spouse's mobile phone number/email can be added to a student's alert account).

Local radio stations are kept abreast of campus closure and other emergency information:
- KRZA Radio 88.7 FM
- KSLV Radio 96.5 FM
- KALQ Radio 93.5 FM
- KASF Radio 90.9 FM
- KGIW Radio 1450 AM
Because the ASU Police Department will be busy tending to any large-scale emergency that occurs, you should avoid calling them directly unless absolutely necessary.
