Notes

  • Most courses in the freshman year can be interchanged between Fall and Spring
  • Art electives can be interchanged in any semester in which they are specified (e.g a 2D elective can be switched for a 3D elective)
  • Students should check with their advisor to ensure their major area will be offered in the semesters indicated and adjust accordingly if the emphasis course if off-rotation
  • Gen Ed courses can be taken in any of the designated semesters; science classes should be taken earlier than indicated if the students has completed Math
  • # Courses must be taken in the semester indicated in order to complete in 4 years
  • Drawing courses, art electives & courses within the emphasis area may also be available in summer using the AR 379 prefix; these course will be substituted for required courses as needed
  • 2D electives include: AR 220 Painting, AR 260 or 261 Printmaking, and AR 280 or 281 Photography
  • 3D electives include: AR 250 Sculpture, AR 270 Ceramics & AR 290 Metals & Jewelry
  • *AR 305 is available in the fall semester only
