Dr. "Beez" Lea Ann Schell
Dr. “Beez” Lea Ann Schell earned a B.A. from Wheeling Jesuit College in WV, an M.S. in Athletic Administration from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University.
She has taught a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Pedagogical Methods, Motor Development, History and Philosophy of Sport, Women in Sport, Research Methods, and Curriculum, Pedagogy, and Assessment.
Her publications and presentations focus on such diverse subjects as teaching and learning styles, fitness, disability, women athletes, coaching, and physical activity in counseling.
Beez has directed grants on instructional technology, physical activity with grieving children, and LGBTQ issues in higher education.
Prior to ASU, Beez served as Chair for the Department of Sport Management & Exercise Science and as Founding Director of the Professional Development Center at State University of New York at Fredonia. A member of several professional organizations,
Beez also was once a player in the Independent Women’s Professional Football League in Santa Rosa, CA. She enjoys fishing, hiking, and playing organized softball, basketball and volleyball.
