We offer two options for earning a minor in mathematics. One option is for students pursuing elementary education licensure, and the other encompasses all other students.
Elementary Education Mathematics Emphasis
Two of the following 4 courses (6-10 Credits):
- MATH 106: College Algebra (3 credits)
- MATH 107: Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry (3 credits)
- MATH 120: Single Variable Calculus I (5 credits)
- MATH 121: Single Variable Calculus II (5 credits)
Plus all of the following coursework (12 credits):
- MATH 140: Geometry Using Technology (3 credits)
- MATH 150: Liberal Arts Mathematics (3 credits)
- MATH 205: Introduction to Statistical Methods (3 credits)
- CSCI 150: Programming in Visual Basic (3 credits)
Standard minor in mathematics
All of the following courses (20 Credits):
- MATH 120: Single Variable Calculus I (5 credits)
- MATH 121: Single Variable Calculus II (5 credits)
- MATH 220: Multivariable Calculus (4 credits)
- MATH 250: Introduction to Mathematical Thought (3 credits)
- MATH XXX: Upper division mathematics elective approved by the department coordinator or department chair. (3 credits)
