Student Teaching
Adams State College Department of Teacher Education requires students to pass the PLACE or Praxis II content area exam before student teaching.
Scores must be received by Teacher Education no later than the 7th week of the Fall or Spring semester prior to each student teaching semester or students will not be placed for student teaching.

- Completed student teaching placement packets are due in the Field Services Office prior to the third Tuesday in
September, for Spring student teaching
February, for Fall student teaching.

- Required orientation meeting for all students who are student teaching the following semester:
Mid November for Spring student teaching
Mid April for Fall student teaching
- All contacts with the K-12 schools are made by the Department of Teacher Education.
- Students may not initiate their own placement contacts or arrangements.
- Violation of these guidelines is grounds for suspension or dismissal from the program.
