Dr. Paul S. Newman (Ph.D., University of Minnesota, 1991) is the Program Director of Theatre for Adams State University. He has been honored as the Higher Education Theatre Educator of the Year by the Alliance for Colorado Theatre.

He teaches theatre history, theory and criticism, directing, design, stage and theatre management, and serves as the Program's scenographer and technical director. Some of his favorite productions include: Rabbit Hole, a British panto version of Cinderella, Good, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Wonder of the World, Peter Pan, Noises Off, Arcadia, Orestes, and The Pirates of Penzance.

This summer he directed The Smell of the Kill for the Evergreen Players. He has adjudicated productions for the Colorado Community Theatre Coalition as well as the Rocky Mountain Theatre Association.

He has served as president of RMTA, is currently its treasurer, and is a member of A.T.H.E. and U.S.I.T.T.
