San Luis Valley, ASC Bookstore Shopping Spree - 12/13

San Luis Valley alumni turned out on December 13th to enjoy a discount at the ASC Bookstore.

Guests ate some Christmas cookies, drank hot cider and visited with Santa while they finished up their Christmas shopping.
Family Day, Special Matinee Performance of Cinderella for ASC Alumni - 12/09

This year the ASC Theatre presented Cinderella. A special alumni matinee was held on December 9th, where ASC alumni filled all 220 seats! The play was not your typical Cinderella story but the audience, young and old, loved the slapstick comedy and the wicked stepfamily. Of course, Cinderella had her fans as well! After the performance, a special reception was held. Attendees enjoyed ice cream cups and Cinderella cupcakes.

The kids could also have their picture taken with the characters. The cast was fantastic with the little ones. Cinderella even had two little boys ask for her autograph. It was a very enjoyable and unforgettable Sunday afternoon at ASC.
Association of ASC Retirees' Christmas Dinner - 12/06

On December 6th, the Adams State College Retiree's gathered in the Luther Bean Museum to celebrate the holiday season. Guests were decked out in their finest Christmas colors.

After enjoying a wonderful turkey dinner, everyone enjoyed a visit from Santa. Several guests sat on Santa's lap and whispered what they wanted for Christmas!
Colorado Springs, ASC At Glen Eyrie Castle 11/10

November 10th found 20 Colorado Springs alumni having high tea at the Glen Eyrie castle. Warm scones, hot tea and a beautiful setting were enjoyed by everyone.

After the tea, the alumni were treated to a special tour given by two of our own who happen to work there as tour guides. Many thanks to Jan '70 and Ken '84 Hardison for the super tour!
Denver, 3rd Dinner Theatre With ASC - 11/09

On November 9th, Denver area alumni were our guests at the Adams Mystery Playhouse where we were treated to dinner and a hilarious seance.

Chris Cross '04 and Andy May '54 were the highlights of the evening as character actors for the evening. Chris had to wear a bright yellow fedora and Andy actually had to do a belly dance on stage. It was a very fun evening for the 30 alumni who attended!
Colorado Classic: ASC vs. Western - 10/27

October 27th found Colorado alumni in Pueblo for the 2nd annual Colorado Classic--the longtime rivalry game between ASC and Western.

Over 120 alumni attended the tailgate party held before the game at Showtime Sports Bar, where hamburgers and hot dogs were the fare. Then it was off to Dutch Clark Stadium where Adams State had a rousing win in the last few minutes of the game. Final score: ASC 24, Western 21!!!
Grand Junction - 09/15

On September 14th, more than 50 Grand Junction alumni and guests joined Dr. Svaldi, Dr. Bruce & Dottie Landis, Lori and Gaylene for dinner at Dos Hombres. In fact, the group was much larger than the room so two dinners took place to accommodate everyone. This was a record-breaking number of alumni to participate in a Grand Junction event. We hope next year's group is big enough for three dinners!

Denver Chapter Picnic - 08/19
The Denver alumni chapter met on Sunday, August 19th for a family picnic at Morse Park for complete with barbeque and fun.
Lake Tahoe, NV 08/10-08/13, 1966-1969 Football Reunion

The 40th anniversary of the ASC Mineral Water Bowl and 1966-69 RMAC Championship Football team held its reunion on August 12 - 14 in beautiful Lake Tahoe where guests enjoyed a picnic, a beach party and a lunch cruise. Dave Theiss '72 writes, "WOW! What a fantastic Reunion in Reno. I've talked to a few guys in follow-up since and their words of description are all superlative. Major thanks to Jerry & Tina Hughes, Bill & Judy Rucinski, and Lori Laske of the ASC Alumni Relations Office for all their efforts. I know beyond a doubt that the stories that began at ASC helped make my life what it has been. I consider it a privilege and a blessing in my life to have known each of you. Thank you all for some of my most precious memories."
ASC Association of Retirees BBQ - 08/02
On August 2nd, the Adams State College Association of Retiree's gathered on the front lawn of Richardson Hall for a good ol' western barbeque. It was a beautiful day in the sunshine-the cowboy hats were a must!

San Francisco, CA - 06/02

On June 2nd, San Francisco area alumni joined Dr. Marv and Mary Motz for lunch at the Franciscan Crab Restaurant on the famous Fisherman's Wharf. ASC grads enjoyed the seafood and the conversation-Lori and Gaylene enjoyed meeting everyone and being able to look out the window at the San Francisco Bay!
Santa Fe, NM - 05/31

May 31st found Lori, Gaylene and the Motz' at the historical Hotel St. Francis in Santa Fe. The hotel was a beautiful place to dine and catch up with alumni from the area. The group was also joined by Dr. John Marvel and his lovely wife Francis.
Los Alamos, NM - 05/30

On May 30th, Los Alamos area alumni gathered at Central Avenue Grill to enjoy a scrumptious dinner and a visit with Dr. Marv and Mary Motz. It was a lively group, and, as always, Dr. Motz had everyone in stitches!
New York, NY - 04/28

Jerry Crisci '70 graciously hosted an alumni luncheon at his restaurant, Armondo's, in Jackson Heights, NY on April 28th. Fellow alumni were having such a fun time that the luncheon almost ran into the dinner hour. All in all, it was a great success. And, the cheesecake was to die for!!! Thanks again, Jerry!
Philadelphia, PA - 04/26

On April 26th, Lori and Gaylene hosted a small group of alumni for dinner at the City Tavern Restaurant in Philadelphia. The event was full of interesting and historical experiences. The alumni in attendance were thrilled that ASC came for a visit and they can't wait to gather again next year, where they hope they will be joined by more of their fellow classmates.
Washington, DC - 04/24

Washington, DC area alumni came together on April 24th at the Beacon Hotel to catch up on the news from ASC. The dinner was delicious and the conversation was delightful. It was fun to see new faces, as well as those returning from last year.
Denver, CO - 04/22

April 22nd was a gorgeous day in Denver for 50 area alumni to hang out at Coors Field, eat hamburgers and hotdogs and watch the Rockies play ball. James Trujillo '02 said, "Another wonderful alumni event! My daughters and I enjoyed a great afternoon of good food and great baseball thanks to the Alumni Relations office. Thank you for all you do for Adams State!"
Ft. Collins, CO - 04/21

On Saturday evening, April 21st, Ft. Collins area alumni attended the Carousel Dinner Theatre to enjoy a good meal and watch a production of "Singin' in the Rain." Everyone enjoyed the play-the rain on stage was very cool-but the real enjoyment, as usual, was the time to visit with old and new friends.
Trinidad, CO - 03/31
Trinidad area alumni came to Main Street Cafe on March 31st for some of the best lasagna in town! It was a small but lively group. A good time was had by all.
Rocky Ford, CO - 03/31

March 31st was a balmy afternoon in Rocky Ford as area alumni came together for lunch at Mission Deli. The food was delicious and the group filled up the space. It was crowded but very fun!

Orange County, CA - 03/10

On a balmy Saturday afternoon, March 10th, Orange County, CA alumni gathered for some great food and great stories at Maggiano's in Costa Mesa. Almost every decade from the 60's to the 00's was represented and it made for some lively conversations. The weather was perfect, but the time spent together was even better!
San Diego, CA - 03/09

San Diego area alumni braved the traffic on Friday night, March 9th, to gather at the Claim Jumper for dinner. The guests enjoyed visiting over extra large plates of food. They all decided that the trip up the interstate was definitely worth it!
Colorado Springs, CO - 03/06

Champps in Colorado Springs was the location for area alumni to gather on March 6th. President Dr. Svaldi was on hand to answer questions about the college. Everyone enjoyed catching up over some scrumptious hors d'oeuvres.
San Luis Valley, CO - 02/23

On February 23rd, San Luis Valley area alumni met at Back in Thyme for some coffee and really yummy desserts. Alumni enjoyed visiting over key lime pie and chocolate mousse. There were many new faces at this event as well as some familiar ones!
ASC Association of Retirees - 02/14

The ASC Association of Retiree's got together for lunch on Valentine's Day. The group was festive in red, pink and white. As always, Lori and Gaylene loved hosting this sweetheart of a group!
Tucson, AZ - 02/10

Elle Restaurant in Tucson was the site of the first ever Tucson event for area alumni. 21 alumni and guests enjoyed visiting over a fine dinner. Don Stegman '61 & '64 was on hand to visit with some former students. The evening was enjoyed by all!
Scottsdale, AZ - 02/09

Rock Bottom in Scottsdale, AZ was the place to be on the evening of February 9th as more Phoenix alumni came together to visit with Don Stegman '61 & '64 and reminisce about their time at Adams State College.
Phoenix, AZ - 02/09

February 9th found a group of Phoenix area alumni enjoying another fine luncheon served by the Culinary Arts group at Metro Tech High School. Grads enjoyed visiting with the Alumni Relations' special guest, Emeritus Professor Don Stegman '61 & '64.

This was the group's second year at the Culinary Arts School, and they enjoyed the Chocolate Trilogy just as much the second time around. Gaylene forgot the camera, but luckily Bev '69 Price's friend Will Johnson graciously bailed her out. Not only did he loan her his camera, he took some of the pictures as well. Thanks, Will!!!!
Albuquerque, NM - 02/07

On February 7th, a record-breaking crowd of Albuquerque area alumni gathered at Fiesta's for dinner.

It was a cozy gathering-mostly because the group was too big for the space. Lori and Gaylene love when that happens!

The Albuquerque alumni are looking forward to next year and setting a new attendance record!
ASC Grizzlies vs Colorado School of Mines - 01/13

On January 13th, Adams State alumni gathered to support their alma mater when the Grizzlies took on Colorado School of Mines. Do we have a future ASC cheerleader here?
