International Students

Welcome to our international family!

ASU International Undergraduate Admission is easy.

International applicants may be admitted to the university if they have completed secondary education with college preparatory curriculum, fulfilled the minimum grade point equivalency, provided required official academic records, met the appropriate deadlines, and verified financial support for one academic year.

Who Are We?

Adams State University (ASU) is a small public liberal arts college located in Southern Colorado.

ASU offers a wide range of majors including the most popular majors such as business, biology, chemistry, teacher education and more. All classes are taught by professors and not graduate students. We offer students the opportunity to work closely with their professors that are all experts in their field.

Who is an International Student?

ASU defines an international student as a student in non-immigrant status who is not a U.S. citizen or does not have approved and finalized U.S. permanent residence, refugee status or political asylum.

Here's what our students say about ASU and what they've learned here:

Rebecca Fortner:

The Adams State Theatre Program exposed me to all sides of theatre including stage management, acting, directing, working in the costume shop, and set design.

My experience working in the Writing Studio and my directing experience have an amazing cross over - I see how people grow as writers and as actors.

The Writing Studio is a creative outlet. I take someone else’s work, either helping in the Writing Studio or directing a play, and tweak it and present it back out in the world, without changing the integrity.

I help plant ideas in the students’ heads to make their work better, in theatre and in writing.
