Admissions Process
International students are required to submit the following:
- Application for undergraduate admission --- students may apply at www.adams.edu.
- $30 application fee.
- Official high school transcript (First-time freshmen) OR Official college transcripts (Transfers)
- Official transcript translation and credential evaluation.
- Official TOEFL score report.
- Verification of financial support.
When should international applicants turn in applications for admission and other required documents?
Deadlines for application for admission: All paperwork must be received by the date indicated.

What are your minimum TOEFL requirements?
Adams State College requires a 550 on the paper-based, a 213 on the computer-based, or a 79 on the internet-based exam.
What is a credential evaluation and are their recommended agencies?
International students are required to have their transcripts translated into English AND evaluated by an authorized agency. Authorized agencies are:

When Do I Need to Apply for My Student Visa?

Are international students eligible for financial loans or scholarships?
International students with a 3.0 GPA or higher will receive the Experience Colorado Scholarship, valued at $4,200 per year and renewable for all four years at Adams State College. International students may also apply for private scholarships offered through the Adams State College Foundation and/or other private agencies.

How much funding is required to meet the requirement for financial support?
International students must provide financial certification showing the availability of $22,200 US or the equivalent in another currency. Affidavit of Support, recent bank statements, and/or scholarship awards are acceptable.
Can international students work on campus?
International students on an F-1 student VISA are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week in an on-campus job. However, keep in mind that many work-study positions are only available for 10-12 hours per week. Work-study positions are not guaranteed and students must apply for individual positions.
When will I receive my I-20?
An international student will receive his/her I-20 following the completion of the admissions process and after formal acceptance to Adams State College. If you have questions regarding your I-20, you should direct those questions to the Primary Designated School Official:
