Peace concert draws college students from many universities (04-15-09)

The "Madness for Peace" concert by Salman Ahmad and Samir Chatterjee, on April 4 at Adams State College, attracted students from Mesa State, Fort Lewis College, CSU-Pueblo, and UNC Greeley, as well as Adams State. According to Aaron Miltenberger, coordinator of student activities, nearly 300 people attended the concert, premier of Ahmad's film, "The Rock Star and the Mullahs", and Chatterjee's drum clinic.

"Bringing musicians such as Salman and Samir to Adams State College demonstrates our commitment to serving the students and the San Luis Valley as a conduit of cultural understanding," Miltenberger said. "The opportunity to experience a musical bridge to an area of the world that is misunderstood and often misrepresented is a unique gift, and one that will not soon be forgotten."
