Snare or steel, by hand or stick -- the Adams State College percussion concerts start with a bang. This spring, the Percussion Ensemble and Steel Bands Concert will feature works from Indonesia, Zimbabwe, and the West Indies, as well as percussion ensemble standards and recent multimedia compositions, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in Richardson Hall Auditorium.

A bonus for percussion lovers is Paul Kobe's senior percussion recital, featuring works for marimba, timpani, multi-percussion and snare drum, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, in Leon Memorial Concert Hall.

The faculty percussion recital by James Doyle, scheduled for April 10 has been postponed until the fall 2011 semester.

Kobe's recital is free and admission for the Percussion Concert is $5 for adults, $1 for students and is free to AS&F and Friends of Music. For more information, please contact 719-587-7621.
