SLV Symphony presents "Peter and the Wolf"
The San Luis Valley Symphony will present its Spring Classics Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in Richardson Auditorium on the Adams State College campus. Under the direction of Dr. William Lipke, the program will feature popular selections including the frolicking "Hoe Down" from Copland's Rodeo, the beautiful Elegie and Finale on a Russian Theme from Tchaikovsky's Serenade, a Mozart violin concerto movement featuring Aspen Quirico as soloist, and the perennial audience favorite "Peter and the Wolf," by Sergei Prokofiev, narrated by Adams State President David Svaldi. "Peter and the Wolf is a highly restricted score, so it is not performed very often. It is beloved of both children and adults and we are thrilled to have Dr. Svaldi as narrator," Lipke said.
The SLV Symphony is composed of professional musicians, ASC faculty members and students, and community members. Tickets will be available in the Music Department Office and at the door. For more information call the Music Office at 587-7621 or firstname.lastname@example.org . Admission is $5 adults/$1 children/Free to AS&F and Friends of Music.
