ASC announces fall 2009 free faculty lecture series
The Adams State College Faculty Lecture Series for the spring 2009 semester includes unique speakers, addressing a variety of topics. The free lectures begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays in Porter Hall (the science building) room 130 throughout the semester.
The schedule includes Dr. Rob Benson, associate professor of geology, "Economic Geology of Africa" on September 2; Dr. Ed Crowther, history/government/philosophy department chair, "Lincoln: Race and Slavery" September 23; Masood Ahmad, director of student engagement and success, "Pakistan: From the Silk Road to the Taliban" on October 7; Dr. Mark Finney, assistant professor of mass communications, "Salamosa: Local News Coverage of Community Crises" on October 21; Dr. Brent King, assistant professor of psychology, "He Said, She Said: Gender Communication and Sexual Harassment" on November 11; and Cindy Whitney, assistant professor of sociology, "Women and Gun Ownership" on December 9.
