Top of the Nation Honor Band concert is February 14 (02-02-09)

The Adams State College Music Department annual "Top of the Nation" Honor Band Concert will start at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, in Richardson Hall, and is free and open to the public.

This year, the guest conductor is Ray Cramer, emeritus director of bands at Indiana University. The concert will feature the High School Wind Ensemble, High School Concert Band, Adams State Wind Ensemble, Adams State Concert Band, and the Rio Grande Community Concert Band.

The "Top of the Nation" Honor Band is one of the longest running honor bands in Colorado, with a tradition dating back over 40 years. Honor band selects students from the entire Southwestern United States. The band consists of some of the finest high school instrumental musicians in the Southwest with members coming from Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado.
