Science Saturdays February/March schedule is set

Participants for the February 13 Science Saturday show off their tie-dye creations

Adams State College Science Saturdays continue into March at the Science Activity Center, from 9 a.m. until noon. Mouse Trap Race Cars is planned for February 20, participants will learn how to use an ordinary mouse trap spring to power a small race car. Various courses and tasks will be available to challenge the car engineers.

The next week, February 27, will be about model rockets. Learn the basics of rocket science as we illustrate basic principles through hands-on activities. Weather permitting, we will launch several types of rockets outside the Science Activity Center.

The first Saturday in March, the 6th, is Lego Mindstorm Robots, lead by Dr. Matt Nehring, chair of the chemistry, computer science and mathematics department. Learn how to build and program several different types of Lego Mindstorm Robots.

Due to spring break, there is no Science Saturday on March 13.

No experience is necessary, just a willingness to experiment. The activities are free and open to the public. Parents are encouraged to bring their children; parents must remain with children 12-years-old and younger. The Science Activity Center is located on the north side of the Community Partnership Building, immediately south of Richardson Hall.
