Governor Bill Ritter recently named Boulder resident Mary Griffin to the Board of Trustees for Adams State College. Having spent the last 13 years of her career in human resources in the high-tech sector along Colorado's Front Range, she now operates her own human resources consulting firm, Griffin Associates.

"Ms. Griffin is an excellent addition to our board," said Adams State President, Dr. David Svaldi. "She brings an important perspective based on expertise in the field of human resources that will complement the strengths of our other trustees."

Griffin said: "Adams State's essential mission, 'to provide opportunity and access for all students' and 'to be a catalyst for the educational, cultural, and economic interests of rural Colorado, the surrounding region, and the global community,' is a commitment I share at the most fundamental level. I am enormously pleased to be working with the Adams State College community to preserve and enhance the important role it plays in Alamosa, the surrounding community, and in the state of Colorado."

A fifth generation Coloradan, Griffin has long been active in state and local politics. Griffin earned a B.A. in history from University of Colorado in 1992, followed by a J.D. from University of Colorado School of Law in 1996. She also holds certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Society for Human Resource Management/Human Resources.
