Luther Bean Museum current exhibit highlights history of Monte Vista (01-15-09)

The Adams State College Luther Bean Museum is currently hosting an exhibit on loan from the Monte Vista Historical Society. The exhibit features photographs of Monte Vista from the 1890s, including a photo by Herb Stanger; a Pansy flour sack ca. 1910; a fireman's hat from the town's first firefighters; uniforms from WWI and the Monte Vista town baseball team; early 1900s posters of important Monte Vista events; and a panoramic photo of the second Ski-Hi Stampede.

The exhibit continues through February 6. The Luther Bean Museum, located on the second floor of Richardson Hall, hours are 8 a.m. until 4:40 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. For more information or to arrange a tour call 719-587-7151.
