ASC Community Partnerships Gallery hosts Inner Vision
Reflect on your inner wisdom for finding hope and healing, balance and understanding during the "Inner Vision" opening reception hosted by Adams State College Community Partnerships Gallery from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, July 1.
Beginning at 4 p.m., Creed de Avanzar will perform mythic art. Lorain Fox Davis will present the 2011 Peace and Prayer Day message from Chief Arvol Looking Horse. Tessa Bielecki will tie the evening together with reflections on "Reweaving Meaning in an Unraveling World." Refreshments will be served.
"A Divine residence within each of us shows up in the symbolic language of art," says guest curator, Shahna Lax, from Crestone. "Our artists have tapped into that and allowed it to flow into the external world."
Inner Vision artists, from around the valley, range in age from 26 to 86 years old and include Safiya Balekian, Nemonie Colville, Lorain Fox Davis, Bertha Gotterup, Jacque Hart, Nick Keefer, JoAnne Kiser, Shahna Lax, Noona O'Riley, Marika Popovits, and Tia Smilack, some exhibiting for the first time. Many of the artists will be present July 1 to interact face-to-face with you about their "messages from inside the evolving human spirit."
