EARTH Week includes talent show and 5K (03-23-09)

Put on your dancing shoes and running shoes, the Adams State College Environmental Action for Resources, Transportation and Health (EARTH) group is planning a variety of events celebrating EARTH Week April 13 through April 18.

A variety/talent show will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 13, in Carson Auditorium. Poetry, music, skits, all is welcome, as long as the performance relates to the EARTH theme. No cost to participate and prizes will be awarded.

A very fun 5K, begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18. All participants are eligible for a prize drawing, and will receive a recycled EARTH Week t-shirt. Cost is $5, and registration will be from 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 the day of the race.

Other events during the week include a "Fat Tire Bike Tour" of Alamosa Ranch, a concert by "Rescue Party", a river clean-up, and a reduce, reuse, recycle garage sale.
