Relaxing in the sun after the EARTH fun run in 2009.

Good for your heart, budget, and Rio Grande - the Adams State College Environmental Action for Resources, Transportation and Health (EARTH) events begin Saturday, April 9 with a Fun Run at 9 a.m., registration at 8:30 a.m., at the Adams State Rex Activity Center east lawn.

The 6k Fun Run entry fee will be $5 per participant; any extra donations to EARTH are welcome. Prizes, raffled at the end of the event, include two $25 gift certificates and two water bottles from Kristi Mountain Sports; two free dinner buffets from Calvillo's Restaurant; and two 18-hole round passes to Cattails Golf Course. Each participant will receive one slightly used t-shirt. Participants may choose to walk and may bring their "friendly" canine companions, leashed. Refreshments will be served.

Other annual EARTH Saturday events include the Reduce Reuse, Recycle Garage Sale from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the Student Union Building Mall Court. Meet at 11 a.m. in the SUB Mall Court to help with a clean-up of the Rio Grande River, near the north end of campus.
