The future of middle class is subject of next Faculty Lecture
The Adams State College Faculty Lecture, "The economics of the 99% versus the 1% and the future of the Middle Class," by Dr. Ed Lyell, professor of business, begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in Porter Hall (the science building) room 130.
For over 40 years the average worker in America has not had a wage increase beyond inflation. Meanwhile, the richest one percent have had a 700 percent gain. What are the reasons, how much does this hurt America long term, and does this mean we are no longer even a democracy? Does Congress listen to or care about the 99%. Evidence says no.
All talks are free and the public is invited. Complimentary light refreshments will be offered. For further information on the series of lectures, contact Dr. Kristy Duran, assistant professor of biology, at 719-587-7767, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
