First BSN cohort graduates from Adams State
Solemnly reciting the nursing pledge, the first the Adams State College Bachelor of Science in Nursing cohort celebrated with family, friends, faculty and staff during the Pinning Ceremony, on May 11 in the Theatre Building.
Adams State nursing faculty, including Dr. Amanda Jojola, director; Christina Harlow, adjunct professor; Victoria Kretche, visiting assistant professor; and Sharon Melvin, assistant professor, expressed pride in the students' academic and clinical accomplishments, reminding the new graduates to always place their patients first.
Close family members or friends joined the students on stage for the pinning, an emotional time for many, including Christine Willis, as the past few years' challenges and rewards were shared.
Each student held a lit candle and recited the Nursing Pledge, followed by a presentation of awards and slide show.
Graduates include Casey Amos, Abigail Badu-Amoah, Erika Bendele, Jackie Bennett, Ashley Blinzinger, Darcy Jangula, Brena Das, Elizabeth Smith, Erin Goelze, Kelli Grennell, Addison LeMaster, Alonzo Lobato, Jeff Louritt, Jennifer Pacheco, Onawa Pelham, Tammy Romero, Joshua Sisneros, Terrina Tafoya, Paul Wertz and Kristine Willis.
