Former Pakistan General to address audience at Adams State
The Adams State College Director of Student Engagement and Success, S. Masood Ahmad, is bringing Brigadier General Rashid Ali Malik to campus. Malik's free lecture, "The Great Game Reanimated: War on Terror -- Beyond Osama bin Laden", begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in Richardson Hall Auditorium.
Malik, president and CEO of SECURITY 2000, retired from the Pakistan Army after 32 years of service. He frequently participates in international conferences, seminars and media talk shows as a security expert and has been a keynote speaker on the War on Terror in particular and security and safety issues confronting businesses and governments in general.
His talk will address the history of land invasions, occupancy by foreign countries, and the events that led up to 9/11, the Taliban, the destabilization and alienation of Pakistan, and other issues of world concern.
In 1979, the day the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, Malik was in charge of the Afghan desk in the Military Operations Directorate at the Army HQ. He later worked five years as director general of the Pakistan Airports Security Force. He is currently on the Board of Global Source LLC a Washington based security consulting enterprise and the Chairman of the All Pakistan security Agencies Association. Malik has been a member of the ASIS Investigation Council for the last six years and is the past president and current chairman of the World Association of Detectives, the oldest and the largest alliance of investigators and security professionals in the world.
