Autumn@Adams includes open mike poetry night

(09-04-2008)

Adams State College senior, Jesse Russell, is organizing a poetry reading for 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the Student Life Center located in the Student Union Building.

"The night will include writers sharing their works, where everyone is encouraged to participate," Russell said. "If you play guitar, you can play your favorite song or your own composition. If you are too shy please come to 'listen' to your community-members, college students and writers."

The event will feature Wayne Sheldrake, author of the award-winning book, "Instant Karma: the Heart and Soul of a Ski Bum".

Free refreshments will be served.

The Fifth Annual Autumn@Adams theme, "Our Earth-Our Valley/Tierra Nuestra-Nuestro Valle" is dedicated to honoring and promoting the agricultural heritage of sustainable rural living in the San Luis Valley through inspiration and education.

Events continue through September 20. For a complete schedule of events, visit autumn.adams.edu or call 719-587-7827.
