Autumn@Adams cook-off is September 17
Poetry, art and chile wrap up the 2011 Adams State College Autumn@Adams celebration, "Honor Your Story-Discover Your Possibilities/Honre Tu Historia- Descubre Tus Posibilidades".
The annual poetry reading is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Luther Bean Museum. The art exhibit, "Self Portrait" continues through September 30, in the ASC Community Partnerships Art Gallery. An artist reception is from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16. Both events are free and refreshments will be served.
Following the reception, the Adams State Hispanic Heritage Committee invites campus and community to a Night of Dancing with DJ Armando Valdez in the Student Union Building Solarium.
Sensational cooks and chile lovers, plan to attend the ever-popular Autumn@Adams Cook-Off starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, on the North Campus Green. Cost for participation, including sampling all the green chile, red chile, and salsa is $3; cost is $10 per entry for the cook-off.
Starting at 4 p.m. is a tailgate party with food and fun vendors. Anticipate a win for the first 2011 Adams State Grizzlies Football home game against CSU-Pueblo beginning at 7 p.m. in Rex Stadium.
