Travel to Turkey and Greece

(09-23-2011)

The Adams State College Psychology Department is planning a trip to Turkey and Greece for June 2012. This 12-day tour will visit sites along the Western coast of Turkey including Istanbul, a bazaar and carpet market in Bursa, and beaches in Kusadasi. Following a 2-day Greek Island cruise with visits to Santorini and Crete, we land in Athens for a 2-day stay before returning home.

The cost of the trip includes airfare, accommodations, ground and sea transportation, breakfasts, tour director and local guides, and some dinners. This trip is available to students and community members.

The accompanying course offered by the Psychology Department is entitled: Cultures of the Eastern Mediterranean. The course will explore such topics as general cultural orientations, cultural beliefs and values, family patterns, social norms and customs, and historical and religious differences. Community members may participate in the trip only, or, may also enroll in the course through Extended Studies.

An informational meeting addressing cost and other details is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Adams State College School of Business Building, room 217. Questions may be directed to Dr. Leslie Alvarez at lcramblet@adams.edu.
