Adventure Trips and Clinics are designed to provide a balance of challenge, education, and fun!

We offer a variety of trips and clinics tailored mostly to enhancing the beginners experience in outdoor adventure activities.

You will learn new or enhance your current skills through the instruction and coaching provided by our highly trained staff.

While most of our trips explore our own San Luis Valley and its neighboring mountain ranges past trips have gone as far as Moab Utah, Joshua Tree National Park, and the Anasazi Ruins in Chaco Canyon.

Penitente Canyon Day Rock Climbing

Penitente Canyon is the San Luis Valleys most popular and well known outdoor climbing crags with more than 400 climbing routes over two miles of beautiful canyon floor. This area is great for beginners and experts alike with plenty of simple climbs and a challenge for anyone willing to try it. No climbing experience is required, all necessary climbing gear is provided through ASAP, and minimal physical fitness is needed. Cost: Priority Member/First Year Free: $0 Non-member/Community Member: $10 Interested? Come into the Rex Fitness and Wellness Center (12pm-7pm M-F) ask one of our ASAP Staff for registration forms. North Clear Creek Day Ice Climbing

North Clear Creek Falls is a secluded 80 ft. waterfall in the San Juan's west of Creede that freezes over in winter and allows for a wide range of different ice climbs over the giant frozen pillar. After a half mile snowshoe hike across open snow and a hike down to the bottom of the falls an ice climbing clinic will be taught regardless of experience level to give everyone the skills they need to succeed. Don't forget warm clothes! Cost: Priority Member/First Year Free: $10 Non-member/Community Member: $25 Interested? Zapata Falls Night Ice Climbing

Zapata Falls is a 40 ft. waterfall tucked into the hill side, south of the Sand Dunes, that is climbable during the winter and early spring. ASAP goes here at night to take advantage of the cave the waterfall comes into and lights up the ice with headlamps, tiki torches, and or glow sticks! After a quick quarter-mile hike and a Ice climbing lesson the climbing will commence. All experience and fitness levels are welcome and don't forget your warm clothes! Spring Break Backpacking, Hot springs and Yoga (Gila Wilderness)

The Gila Wilderness was one of the first forests to be designated as a wilderness area and is one of the most enchanting and spiritual forests in the Southwest United States. We will spend 5 days backpacking and hiking to various natural hot springs around the area and having yoga sessions each morning and evening at camp. The trip requires little to no previous backpacking and outdoor experience and only a moderately active fitness level. Bring your swim suit!
