Graduate and Internship Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in an internship or graduate assistant position at Adams State University's Student Life & Leadership Department! We are dedicated to providing mentorship and learning opportunities, as well as engaging new professionals into the daily workings of a comprehensive Student Life department to gain the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for a graduate program or student affairs position post completion.

Internships

Internships are 10 month positions (early August through May), 35 hours per week. Interns work with various offices within the Division of Student and University Affairs. In some instances summer work may be available. Preference will be given to graduating undergraduate students with a career or educational goal aligned with the Division of Student Affairs.

Interns will be immersed into the daily workings of a Student Life department and gain the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for a graduate program or student affairs position post completion. Please see the below job descriptions for more information on the positions available.

Job Description

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships are 1-2 academic year positions, 35 hours per week. GAs work with various offices within the Division of Student and University Affairs. In some instances summer work may be available. Preference will be given to students in enrolled in a Master’s program at Adams State University including Higher Education Administration and Leadership (HEAL) or Counselor Education; however, there may be opportunity to fill these positions as internships. GAs will be immersed into the daily workings of a Student Life department and gain the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for a student affairs position post completion.
