Academic/Financial Aid Advising:
Academic advising is one vital resource available to students during their undergraduate education. The overall goal of academic advising is to assist students in making responsible decisions with regard to their educational and career goals. Advisors discuss with students possible course schedules and other educational experiences. They assist students in understanding the requirements and policies necessary to complete a degree in an informed and timely manner. However, students are responsible for making progress toward a degree.
Students should have an understanding of their financial aid and be familiar with the terminology that is associated with budgeting and managing their college finances. When students meet with their advisor, they will discuss their financial aid as it is reported in the college tracking system. Students will also be referred to Money101 to register and explore online presentations on various financial literacy topics.
