The first goal of the Writing Studio is to help students become better writers by providing students one-to-one tutorials and a competent and caring trial audience for their work.
For ethical reasons, especially relevant to ASU being a place of learning, students are entirely responsible for their papers. We do not require anyone to take our recommendations. We do not promise perfect papers, but students can expect improved writing if they actively involve themselves in the process. We tutor the writer, not the writing.
For a more effective tutoring session, students are asked to bring their assignments, their most recent drafts or ideas, any feedback they may have received from instructors or previous sessions at the Writing Studio, and any questions regarding their work.
- Tutoring sessions last 30 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged if no one is waiting.
- Students may drop in or schedule appointments.
- Appointments have priority over walk-ins.
- Tutors are here to help students learn to proof their own work; however, we do not proof, edit or rewrite papers for you and written work that is dropped off will not be accepted.
