International Students

Welcome to our international family!

ASU International Undergraduate Admission is easy.

International applicants may be admitted to the university if they have completed secondary education with college preparatory curriculum, fulfilled the minimum grade point equivalency, provided required official academic records, met the appropriate deadlines, and verified financial support for one academic year.

Who Are We?

Adams State University (ASU) is a small public liberal arts college located in Southern Colorado.

ASU offers a wide range of majors including the most popular majors such as business, biology, chemistry, teacher education and more. All classes are taught by professors and not graduate students. We offer students the opportunity to work closely with their professors that are all experts in their field.

Who is an International Student?

ASU defines an international student as a student in non-immigrant status who is not a U.S. citizen or does not have approved and finalized U.S. permanent residence, refugee status or political asylum.

Here's what our students say about ASU and what they've learned here:

Teresa Spencer:

As a nontraditional student, I am not treated any differently by students or professors.

I am asked by fellow students to join study groups. And when the ASL (American Sign Langage) Club found out I was interested in ASL, they asked me to join them and learn more. When you are trying to find a location on campus, everyone is willing to help, some will even walk you there.

I did an internship with the Rio Grande County Sheriff Office, and it helped me understand the law better. I was offered a job, and became a sergeant.
