Nearly 100 people attended a reception for state legislators hosted by Adams State University at the Warwick Denver Hotel, February 18. In addition to legislators, Adams State alumni, faculty, and staff participated to share their "great stories" of Adams State.
The following morning, February 19, several Adams State academic departments and student groups showcased their offerings and activities with displays in the capitol. Among the groups were the AS&F student government and the Veterans at Adams State Club. Later that day, President McClure was introduced to the Colorado General Assembly and received a standing ovation.

"By sharing their experiences of Adams State, our alumni can help lawmakers understand the importance of Adams State University to Colorado and to our students," said Adams State President Beverlee J. McClure. "This year’s General Assembly is important to us in many ways. As the budget is being debated, we stand to lose about $300,000 from our allocation or gain as much as $1.1 million. It is essential our legislators become aware of the implications of their budget decisions."
The reception was generously sponsored by Arnold & Marguerite Salazar, Partnership Investments, and SLV Behavioral Health.
