The Adams State University Office of Extended Studies has collaborated with the San Luis Valley Federal Bank to offer loans for educator professional development.
According to Renae Haslett, Extended Studies director of special projects, the loans apply to Extended Studies Online Professional Development (PD Online) or Virtual Education Software, Inc. (VESI) courses. Loan guidelines include a credit score of 680+ and being currently employed as a teacher. The approximate loan amount is $600 with an interest rate of 6 percent. Once approved for the loan, proceeds will be paid directly to Adams State.
“We are very excited about this collaboration with San Luis Valley Federal Bank,” Haslett said. “We hope that this loan option will give more teachers access to high quality professional development courses which will benefit them as well as their students.”
