Adults wishing to complete their college degrees are invited to an Open House for SLV Adult Learners, hosted by Adams State University Extended Studies, on Monday, July 25, from 4-8 p.m. in Richardson Hall, the main administration building on Hwy. 160 and Edgemont.
"We offer affordable, personalized opportunities to those who have begun college work and now wish to complete their degrees," said Walter Roybal, assistant vice president for Extended Studies-Academics. "Students may receive credit for military service, coursework completed at other institutions, and other prior learning." College credit for accumulated knowledge is ascertained through college-level exams (CLEP), administered on the Adams State campus.
Extended Studies coursework is flexible, ideal for working adults. The Open House will provide students the opportunity for a free unofficial evaluation of transfer credits and prior learning. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. "Beginning on day one, through graduation, distance learning students will work with advisors who are dedicated to helping them succeed."
