The Adams State University Observatory will participate in International Observe the Moon Night on Saturday, Oct. 8, with an open house from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will be a variety of telescopes available to view the Moon including one connected to a monitor so everyone can view the Moon together while the features visible on the Moon’s surface are described.
Dr. Robert Astalos, professor of physics and the Observatory and Zacheis Planetarium director, said one telescope will have a camera attached and participants can take their own photographs of the Moon. “Bring a USB thumb drive and you can take your photos home with you that night. Or, for a five dollar donation, we can give you a thumb drive with your photos on it.”
Parking is available on the west side of Stadium Drive or in a parking lot. There is no parking at the observatory.
