Dr. William Lipke, Adams State University professor of music, will present a faculty piano recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, in Leon Memorial Hall on the Adams State University campus. The program will include popular selections by Mozart, Scarlatti, Liszt and Alberto Ginastera.
In his tour of Eastern Europe this year, Lipke performed three recitals in Russia, including recitals in Igor Stravinsky’s hometown and in St. Petersburg, and one in Serbia. Lipke studied piano with Ozan Marsh, a pupil of Emil von Sauer who was one of Franz Liszt’s students, and holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He has performed with musicians of international stature such as the Ying Quartet (four different seasons) and international opera baritone Håkan Hagegård. His appearances with orchestra include the Liszt Concerto in A Major and have been broadcast on public radio.
