Adams State University Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Chris Gilmer’s, poetry reflects themes of social protest, familial bonds, love and loss through the melding of Southern landscapes, vernacular, and images of a rural farming childhood and what comes after it. His Faculty Lecture Poetic Reflections on Mama and Them begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Porter Hall room 130.
Gilmer believes art begins with an autobiographical impulse, even when the artist denies it, but quickly expands to reflect a worldview tempered equally by intuition and experience.
All ASU Faculty Lectures in the series are free and open to the public. Complimentary light refreshments will be offered.
