The Adams State University Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement (CASA) Center will host a Pop and Latin Dance Mixer on Friday and Saturday.
Free Salsa, Reggaeton, Merengue and Bachata lessons will be from 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Body Tune-up Gym, located on 420 State Ave, in Alamosa. The dancing will continue after the lessons until 11 p.m.
Then on Saturday, Dec. 1, a Dominican Style Bachata Bootcamp will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Body Tune-Up Gym. Participants will experience the authentic Bachata dance style of the Dominican Republic. Dancing will continue from 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Juanito’s Mexican Kitchen, located at 1019 6th St., Alamosa.
All events are free and open to the public. The lessons will be led by Latin dance instructor and CASA director, Oneyda Maestas, who was trained by Rodolfo Montano Castro, master instructor and national Bachata champion.
