No injuries or damage were discovered in relation to an incident of gunshots heard at approximately 10 p.m., Thursday, January 15, near the Adams State University campus.
"This was not an active shooter incident. Officers heard gunshots from outside," said Adams State Vice President of Student Affairs Ken Marquez.
He added no suspects have yet been identified, but police are following up on reports of a dark-colored sedan and white pick-up truck seen in the vicinity at the time.

Marquez said the campus was placed on lock-down while Adams State Police, joined by the Alamosa Police Department, Alamosa County Sheriff, Colorado State Patrol, and Alamosa Fire Department, conducted an investigation.
"No one was hurt," Marquez said. "We are fortunate the university is still on winter break, and students have not returned to campus."
The Adams State Police Department issued an "all clear" message at 11:34 p.m., but the campus remained on lockdown throughout the night. Officers continued surveillance overnight near the suspected area of Petteys and Conour Halls, student housing buildings located just off of First St. & Edgemont. The lockdown was lifted at 7:14 a.m., January 16, and the university is open for business.
Marquez said Adams State police officers initiated a search and investigation after hearing gunshots from their Petteys Hall offices about 10 p.m. They will continue the joint investigation with Alamosa Police.
Some members of the university residence life staff were inside Petteys and Conour Halls at the time, but no other students were present, Marquez added. Adam State’s spring semester begins Tuesday, January 20.
The university issued text and email alerts about the incident and subsequent lockdown via its campus alert system, as well as via its Facebook page and Twitter account.
