The Adams State University Faculty Lecture Series continues with Cultural Uses of Plants in the Southwest, by Dr. Kristy L. Duran, associate professor of biology, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in Porter Hall room 130.
In the past few years, Duran has become interested in ethnobotany, the scientific study of the relationships between people and plants. In this lecture, she will explore some of the cultural uses of plants in the Southwest, particularly remedies (medicinal plants) and plant foods that are steeped deep in cultural traditions.
