In 2019, Adams State received 700 applications on the free application day and over 44,000 were received overall in Colorado colleges and universities, which was a 100 percent increase in applications over the 2018 campaign. “This year’s goal is to receive 1000 applications,” said Karla Hardesty, Adams State executive director of enrollment management.
To inspire more Coloradans to continue their education, all 32 public colleges and universities in Colorado and several private institutions will allow students to apply for free on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
“Earning a certificate or degree gives Coloradans the best shot at good jobs during the economic challenges caused by the pandemic,” said Gov. Jared Polis. “By eliminating the cost barrier, more Coloradans will have the opportunity to pursue their passions. We need everyone’s talent and bold ideas to make Colorado the best we can be.”
Colorado Free Application Day caps off Colorado Applies Month, a five-week statewide campaign that encourages high school juniors and seniors – and adults – to select an education or training option that’s best for them and apply to that program.
