Adams State University has been designated as a “Healthy Minds” campus by the Colorado Department of Higher Education. The significance of this designation outlines multiple steps providing students access and awareness to much-needed counseling services and programming for self-care; substance use information; ensure culturally competent and accessible services; elevate students’ voices to tell their stories and express their needs; and increase accessible information for student services.
“The importance of Healthy Minds shows we are not only committed to student mental health but will continue to find new ways of providing access and services for students to support their needs,” Vice President of Student Affairs Savala DeVoge, Ed.D. said.
Adams State joins 14 other colleges and universities throughout Colorado meeting the requirements for the “Healthy Minds” designation.
“I’m extremely proud of the counseling team at Adams State for laying the foundation; our campus has appropriate services that support students in all aspects of mental health and wellness,” noted DeVoge.
