Master of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise Science (on-campus)
The field of Exercise Science allows students to learn about an individual’s physical health, fitness, and sport performance by analyzing the effects of exercise and physical activity on the mind and body.
As a multi-faceted industry, Exercise Science is growing at a rate that is much faster than all other occupations. With the increase of the physical inactivity of the US population and a growing interest in competitive sport, there is a greater demand for health and fitness practitioners who have advanced degrees in the field.
The Master of Science in Kinesiology Exercise Science at Adams State is a 36-credit program that offers a wide range of courses and practical experiences in order to prepare students for careers in allied health and sport performance fields. Students can complete the campus-based program in two years which includes coursework, practicum, and research requirements.
A graduate degree in Exercise Science can prepare individuals for leadership roles in corporate fitness, clinical testing, personal training, research, strength and conditioning, or preparation for doctoral-level programs in Exercise Science.
Course Rotations
By following a sequence of courses, students can complete the Master of Science in Kinesiology Exercise Science program in 4 fall/spring semesters and 1 summer term. If a student falls out of this sequence then additional terms may be needed to complete the degree. Elective courses may be taken at any time (consult with advisor).
