Kinesiology majors may take an Kinesiology minor if it is in addition to their degree requirements. Students may not count Kinesiology credits for both a major and a minor.
Minor in Coaching
Designed for those individuals who are not majoring in Kinesiology but would like to coach at the amateur level, including elementary, junior high, secondary, or post secondary levels.
Completion of the practicum will qualify the individual for the Adams State University Coaching Certification. A prerequisite to the practicum is KIN 350 AND at least 10 hours in the coaching minor core
Minor in Kinesiology
Available in consultation with the department chair. It generally consists of 18 hours of core Kinesiology courses. Physical Education activity classes cannot be used to fulfill minor requirements.
Minor in Fitness Management
This minor will introduce the student to the organization, administration and marketing of sport and recreation facilities. Typical topics studies are: Sport & Recreation Management; Sport Facility Management; Risk Management; Sport Law; and Sport Ethics & Leadership.
