The Adams State University Department of Music presents an evening of chamber music, Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in Richardson Hall Auditorium. This concert will celebrate the culmination of the department’s new chamber music program, featuring performances by the woodwind quintet, brass quintet, flute ensemble, and 68 West. The event is free and open to the public.
The Music Department’s new focus on chamber music has created opportunities for students to develop skills they will use after graduation. Each chamber ensemble is managed by students who are responsible for booking performances, scheduling rehearsals, repertoire planning, and publicity. Each of the chamber ensembles has performed a minimum of ten campus and community service events, including K-12 outreach, nursing homes, veterans homes, the Boys and Girls Club, PALS, and more.
