The Adams State University Cultural Awareness and Student Achievement Center (CASA) has planned a Holiday Fashion Show with proceeds benefitting the David Martinez Memorial Scholarship. The fashion show begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Nielsen Library second floor.
The scholarship will benefit local San Luis Valley CASA students. Martinez, an Adams State employee, died last spring. "David supported many CASA heritage events by contributing his time, energy and positive nature," said Oneyda Maestas, CASA director.
The show will feature local fiber artist Perla Kopeloff, showcasing a unique hand felted collection of silk and merino one-of-a-kind scarves, shawls, hats and gloves.
"This is an opportunity to purchase unique holiday gift items right off the runway," Maestas said.
The event will include music, mocktails and hor d’oeuvres. For more information call the CASA Center at 719-587-7687.
