Welcome Grizzlies!

Join us for Orientation as we roll out the green carpet to welcome the newest members of the Grizz Fam! Orientation is an exciting and important event for you and your family to explore our beautiful campus, discover your new college community, make connections, and learn even more about our academic programs, housing, money matters, and student life. We are excited to welcome all new students, transfers, the Adams State Class of 2028, and your family members!

There will be scheduled activities for Students and Families. Below you’ll find the Student Track schedule and the Family Track schedule.  There will be times when Students and Families will have the same activities and other times when they differ.

Student Track

Thursday, August 15th

12:00pm – 5:00pm: Early Move-in/Check in – Your Assigned Residence Halls

  • Come check-in and get your welcome bag!

5:00pm: Dinner – Campus Green (In front of REX stadium)

6:00pm: CoRE Open House CoRE Center (Student Union Building)

  • Come join us in the CoRE Center for fun, games, movies, and more! Learn what CoRE/Student Life has to offer

Friday, August 16th 

8:00 am – 11:00 am: Move-in/Check in – Your Assigned Residence Halls

  • Come check-in and get your welcome bag!
  • If you missed Early Check in / Move-in you can still come and get your welcome bag and check in for NSO at the Campus Green or CoRE office please see signs

11:00am – 12:15pm: Welcome & Convocation – REX Football Stadium

  • Come hear from several speakers including President Tandberg, AS&F Student Body President Brianna Johnsen, Dr. Melinda Leoce and get to know your NSO Mentors

12:00pm – 2:00pm: All Campus Lunch/Faculty & Staff Meet and Greet   – Campus Green

  • If you joined us for Convocation, please be sure to join us for lunch as well!
  • Meet professors and get any questions you may have answered. Representatives from many different majors will be represented during this event.

2:15pm – 5:00PM : Campus Service Fair – Campus Green

  • Come Learn about Services Available to you and what you need to accomplish your first week here
  • Get your Campus Service Fair Passport Filled out and get a NSO T-Shirt in return (Passport in your packet)

5:30pm – 7:00pm: Dinner – Campus Green

7:00pm – 9:00pm: BINGO Night – The Grill/Mall Court (Student Union Building)

  • Come relax, play some bingo, and win some fun prizes!

Saturday, August 17th-Day at the Dunes

9:30am – 10:30am: Goodbye Breakfast – Campus Green

  • Say goodbye to your Family as we gear up to go on your chosen adventure!
  • Breakfast provided by Tacos Martinez!

10:30am – 11:00am: Load up to head to the Sand Dunes

11:00am: Travel to the Dunes

12:00pm – 1:00pm: Arrive at the Great Sand Dunes national Park

  • Eat Lunch and break up into activity groups lead by mentors

1:00pm – 3:00pm: Discover the Dunes – The Great Sand Dunes National Park

  • Choose an Activity group
    • Chill and Relax by Creek area – build sand sculptures play some games
    • Sand Board/Sand Sled Down  the dunes
    • Hike Up the Sand Dunes

3:00pm – 4:00pm: Head back to Campus!

2:00pm-4:00pm: Choose your adventure! – Various Locations

5:00pm: Dinner @ La-Mesa Dining hall

Sunday, August 20th- It’s Your Day

9:00am – 5:00pm: Get Settled in

  • Get your living space situated
  • Explore campus
  • Say see you later to the folks that helped you move in.
