Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, May 17, 2025, 1:30pm Plachy Fieldhouse, Alamosa CO
Where: Plachy Hall Fieldhouse (map of Adams State campus; 97 Stadium Dr, Alamosa, CO 81101)
You must be at the Plachy Hall Fieldhouse by 1pm to receive your name card and begin formation of the procession. PLEASE be punctual.
Please check the draft graduate commencement ceremony program (updated 02/25/2025 at 10:32am MST) for your name and any errors or changes that need to be made. Please direct any errors or changes to Karie Young at kmyoung@adams.edu ASAP.
The ceremony itself is a mixture of tradition and fun including the music, regalia, and kinetic energy of an auditorium filled with your professors, classmates, friends, and family all convened to share this memorable occasion with you. We know that you will enjoy seeing your professors sharing this last ritual with your cohort and classmates and seeing your professors in their academic attire. We do expect that the graduating class and the audience will refrain from any action or symbol which detracts from the approved program. Loud whoops and hollers from your loved ones are acceptable, however! The doors will be open for families and guests at about 12:45pm as the undergraduate ceremony
At the ceremony, you will receive a diploma cover. Your actual diploma and an official transcript will be mailed to you approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks after the ceremony, once you have met all of the graduation requirements. Be sure you have taken care of all academic matters with your assigned Academic Advisor in relation to your degree completion. Your diploma and transcript will be mailed to the address you listed on the graduation application. If your address has changed, please notify graduatestudies@adams.
To order your cap and gown, please proceed to our Adams State Bookstore website. The deadline for orders is April 24, 2025. When ordering your cap, gown, tassel, and hood, please note all items will go to the address you provide to bring with you to the commencement ceremony if you attend. Please make sure to wear your hood as students will not be hooded as part of the commencement ceremony by their graduate program representative. Ph.D. candidates will be hooded as part of the commencement ceremony.
If accessibility seating on the floor is needed for your guests at the ceremony, please email graduatestudies@adams.
The Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) wishes you a heartfelt congratulations! This is truly an important and meaningful achievement in your life. We hope to see you at the commencement ceremony.
