New Applicants
- Complete an Admission Application
Make sure to submit American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores to the Admissions Office at Adams State. The Adams State ACT code number is 0496 and the CSS code number is 4001. - Obtain a copy of your most recent college or high school transcript, and attach it to the Scholarship Application.
- Complete & submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1. Make certain that Adams State University title IV code 001345 is indicated in step 6 of the FAFSA.
All applications must be received in the Adams State University Financial Aid Office no later than March 1 of the year for which the application is being made.
Porter Scholarship Renewals
Each academic year, Porter Scholars in Good Standing must
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in science and mathematics courses required in the major.
- Demonstrate involvement in activities related to the major and be making adequate progress in a science or mathematics degree program.
Renewal applications will be evaluated competitively with both new and renewal applications. - Complete and submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Deadline: March 1. Make certain that Adams State University Title IV code 001345 is indicated in step 6 of the FAFSA.
- Apply for the Porter Scholarship using Scholarship Universe.
- Attach a student copy of your Adams State University transcript to the Adams State Scholarship Application form.
- Attach a listing of activities that demonstrate involvement in activities related to the major to the Adams State Scholarship Application form. For example, club membership, tutoring, lab assistant, Science Fair judging, independent projects, etc.
- Submit the completed application by March 1 of the year for which the renewal application is made.
