ACT and SAT exams are a potential option to students to receive college credit or placement for they have already learned:
Students with ACT or SAT scores can place into certain Adams State math and/or English courses.
Students who complete the math section of the ACT with a score of 19 or higher, or the math section of the SAT with a score of 470 or higher, can potentially place into college-level math dependent on major.
Students who complete the English section of the ACT with a score of 19-28, or the verbal section of the SAT with a score of 431-659, will place into ENG 101 Communication Arts I. Students who complete the English section of the ACT with a score of 29 or higher, or the verbal section of the SAT with a score of 660 or higher, receive three (3) credit hours for ENG 101 Communication Arts I and will place into ENG 102 Communication Arts II.
